Project—Poster/Print Design
A bespoke, original poster design celebrating Ken Loach’s 1969 British classic film KES. The artwork features a miner’s helmet containing the silhouette of a colliery, symbolising the industrial working life that awaits Billy (the film’s central character) after he leaves school. The helmet’s lamp reflection has been stylised to resemble a bird – KES, the injured kestrel Billy discovers. Through nurturing and training KES, Billy finds purpose and connection amidst an otherwise harsh and unforgiving world.
