Journey into Abstraction is a 260 page book showcasing the life works of Yorkshire born artist John Sprakes. Recognised as a leading figure in 20th century British art, the book catalogues John’s illustrious career – reflecting his journey from figurative works through to his current abstract style. A rigid page grid was used to organise the large variation of image styles and colours. This grid aids the flow of text and imagery, whilst sitting quietly in the background in order not to compete with the artist's work.
